- Qibla Direction: To determine the direction to Mecca (Qibla) from your current location
- Nearby Mosques: To help you find mosques in your vicinity
Collection Method: Location data is obtained through your device's GPS/location services with your explicit permission.
Storage: Location data is cached locally on your device for up to 1 hour to reduce GPS usage and improve battery life. This cached data is automatically deleted after 1 hour and is never transmitted to our servers or shared with third parties.
User Control: You can grant or deny location permissions at any time through your device settings. If you deny location permissions, certain features (prayer times, Qibla direction, nearby mosques) may not function accurately.
2.2 Local Storage Data
The following data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers:
- Downloaded Quran text and translations
- Downloaded Quran audio files
- Downloaded Dua (supplication) text and audio
- User preferences and settings (theme, language, prayer time calculation methods)
- Prayer time calculation preferences
All of this data remains on your device and can be deleted at any time by clearing the app data through your device settings.
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
Muslim Sync does not collect the following information:
- Account information (no account creation required)
- Email addresses
- Names or personal identifiers
- Payment information (the app is free)
- Analytics or tracking data
- Device identifiers used for tracking
- Social media information
3. How We Use Your Information
We use collected data solely for app functionality.
We use the information we collect exclusively to provide and improve the functionality of Muslim Sync:
- Location Data: Used only to calculate prayer times, determine Qibla direction, and find nearby mosques. Location data is not used for any other purpose and is not shared with third parties.
- Local Storage: Used to provide offline access to downloaded content and to remember your preferences for a better user experience.

4. Third-Party Services

4.1 Supabase
Muslim Sync uses Supabase as a backend service to fetch mosque data and Dua categories. When you use features that require this data (such as browsing mosques), your device makes requests to Supabase servers. However, no personal information is transmitted in these requests. We only fetch publicly available mosque and Dua information.
4.2 No Other Third-Party Services
Muslim Sync does not use:
- Advertising networks
- Analytics services
- Social media integrations
- Payment processors
- User tracking services
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Since Muslim Sync stores data locally on your device and does not transmit personal information to our servers, your data is protected by your device's built-in security measures. We recommend:
- Keeping your iOS device updated with the latest security patches
- Using device passcodes or biometric authentication
- Reviewing app permissions regularly in your device settings
Location data cached on your device is automatically deleted after 1 hour and is never stored permanently or transmitted externally.

- Location Permissions: You can grant or revoke location permissions at any time through your iOS device settings (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Muslim Sync).
- Delete Downloaded Content: You can delete downloaded Quran, translations, audio files, and Dua content at any time through the app settings or by deleting and reinstalling the app.
- Clear App Data: You can clear all app data, including preferences and downloaded content, by deleting the app from your device.
- No Account Required: Since we do not require account creation, there is no account data to manage or delete.
